The league office announced its selections for the 2004 All-BIG EAST Teams on Thursday. No. 19 Boston College (14-5-0, 8-3-0) landed four players on the first and second teams, as many as any other team in the conference.
Kia McNeill received honors as both Co-Rookie of the Year and also placed on the All- BIG EAST First Team. The freshman, who tallied 20 points in 19 games for the Eagles this season, was a stable member of the BC offense.
The second team featured three BC players. Co-captain Laina Ceddia, BC's second leading scorer, took the second-team honor from her midfield position.
Jenny Maurer also was named to the second team for her efforts in the Eagle midfield. On Thursday, Maurer was also named to the Academic All-District 1 Team.
Rounding out BC's selections was inside-back Lindsey McArdle. The defensive stalwart was named to the second team along with Ceddia and Maurer.
The No. 19 Eagles play in the BIG EAST Championship semifinals Friday night against No. 2 Notre Dame. The contest will be played at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Conn., and will be aired tape-delayed on College Sports Television (CSTV) on November 6 at 5:30 p.m.
