Providence, R.I. - Boston College senior captain Jessalyn Deveny (Westford, Mass.) was named BIG EAST So-Player of the Week Monday morning after her solid effort over the last week. The honor is her first selection of the season. It marks the first time that an Eagle has been so honored by the conference office this year.
In a week that saw BC capture two wins, including Head Coach Cathy Inglese's 200th at Boston College, Deveny tallied 36 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists, and six steals against Quinnipiac (74-43) and Massachusetts (62-47). The guard shot an impressive 15-for-25 from the field, for a 60% clip. She was also a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
Deveny netted a team-high 22 points against Quinnipiac, extending her streak of team-leading scoring to three games. Against Massachusetts, she kept her double-digit scoring streak alive at four games with 14 points.
The Eagles (3-1/0-0 BIG EAST) travel to Worcester, Mass. Wednesday evening for an 8:15 pm tip-off with Holy Cross. The team returns to Conte Forum Saturday, December 4 for a 1:00 p.m. contest with cross-town rival Northeastern.
