No. 20 Women's Basketball Routs Quinnipiac, 74-43

BOSTON (AP) - Jessalyn Deveny (Westford,Mass.) scored 16 of her 22 points in the opening nine minutes Wednesday night, helping 20th-ranked Boston College to a 74-43 win over Quinnipiac at Conte Forum.
Brooke Queenan (West Chester, Pa.) scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Eagles (2-1) in their home opener. BC built a double-digit lead in the first seven minutes and coasted to coach Cathy Inglese's 200th career win at Boston College.
Krystal Pressley led Quinnipiac (1-2) with 10 points.
Boston College, which trailed only in the opening minute, took a 3-2 lead on Deveny's jumper that triggered a 16-1 run over 6:02. Deveny had 10 points in the spurt.
Following the quick start, the Eagles turned it into a rout by outscoring Quinnipiac 24-7, building a 41-11 lead on Queenan's layup with 2:35 left in the half. The Bobcats were held to just two field goals in the opening 10 minutes.
The Eagles, who outrebounded the much-smaller Bobcats 32-15 in the first half, led 41-17 at intermission.
Boston College's biggest lead was 56-20 midway through the second half.
Boston College travels to Massachusetts Saturday for a 4:00 p.m. tilt in Amherst. The Eagles will return to Conte Forum on December 4 to begin a five-game homestand.
