Fencing Opens Season At NEIFC/NEWIFA Fall Invitational

The Boston College fencing team opened the New England Collegiate season on Saturday at the NEIFC/NEWIFA Fall Invitational. Six Eagles made the finals in the first meet of the year at Smith College.
Senior Tiffany White and sophomore Alex Rios lead the charge for BC. White finished third in the women's epee, while Rio also came in third in the men's epee. Junior Clara Yum took fifth in women's epee and freshman Sam Richardson finished sixth in men's epee. Steve Koza placed sixth in men's sabre and Will Lawrie was sixth in men's foil.
Solid performances from the entire team promise a strong '04-'05 season. The team faces Sacred Heart, Tufts and Wellesley at home on November 13th.
