This week, the NSCAA included the Boston College women's soccer team into its national top-25; slotting them 22nd in the country. Since entering the season in the 19th position, the Eagles have not been ranked. The Eagles are currently nursing a five-game win streak which brought them back into the rankings.
The NSCAA also honored BC on the regional level. Beating out Boston University, BC took the #1 spot in the Northeast region. The Eagles were previously in the fifth slot before going 3-0 last week.
The BIG EAST gave sophomore midfielder Jenny Maurer Defensive Player of the Week for last week's performance. In addition to this accolade, Maurer was noticed by the ECAC and Soccer America.
The ECAC acknowledged her as Player of the Week. Maurer is the youngest player among ECAC honorees this week. Soccer America also named Maurer to the Soccer America Team of the Week. She was one of two BIG EAST players recognized in the national poll.
The Eagles will put their streak on the line Wednesday night against Brown. The Bears carry a 4-4 record and will square off against BC at 4 p.m. on the Newton Campus Field.
