Women's Basketball Tabbed In Preseason Polls

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's basketball team has been getting its fair share of preseason attention this fall. The Eagles have been ranked in three different Top 25 polls, with their highest ranking at No. 7 and their lowest at a respectable No. 22.
Women's Basketball News Service tabbed BC as a No. 7 while Lindy's College Basketball preview (15) and Athlon Magazine (22) also had the Eagles in their picks for the best of the season. Sophomore Kathrin Ress (Salorno, Italy) and senior captain Jessalyn Deveny (Westford, Mass.) were also tabbed by Women's Basketball News Service as preseason All-Americans. Ress appeared on the second team while Deveny found a spot on the third team.
Boston College returns 10 letter winners and three starters in its quest to defend its BIG EAST Championship. The Eagles finished 2003-04 with a 27-7 mark, advancing to their second consecutive NCAA Sweet 16.
