BOSTON (AP) - Yalonda McCormick scored 14 of her 23 points in the final six minutes, leading No. 24 Miami to a 70-66 win over 20th-ranked Boston College on Saturday at Conte Forum.
Tamara James scored 11 points, and Shaquana Wilkins and Hutashi Wilson each had 10 each for the Hurricanes (13-1), who were coming off their first loss of the season after opening with 12 straight wins.
Jessalyn Deveny led the Eagles (12-2) with 17 points. Kathrin Ress and Clare Droesch added 12 points apiece.
Amber Jacobs, BC's leading scorer, was held to just two points on 1-for-10 shooting, and the Eagles committed a season-high 26 turnovers.
The smaller Hurricanes took the lead for good at 49-46 when McCormick hit a 3-pointer from the left side with 5:47 left.
After two free throws by Deveny cut the deficit to 51-50, McCormick hit another 3, making it 54-50 with 4:15 left.
BC didn't come closer than three points the rest of the way. When the Eagles did close within 61-58, McCormick scored on a driving basket with 59 seconds left.
Miami, which entered the Top 25 on Jan. 5 for the first time since the 1992-93 season, lost to Villanova 58-55 on Wednesday.
Boston College, which nearly equaled its season high of turnovers for a game with 16 in the first half alone, overcame its sloppy start with an 11-0 run over the final 2:45 to take a 29-27 halftime lead.
Boston College will travel to Hartford, Conn. next Saturday to face the fourth-ranked Huskies at 12:00 p.m.
