Worcester, Mass. - Volleyball swept Hartford University, Iona College, and the College of the Holy Cross this weekend as champions of the Holy Cross Crusaders Classic.
BC (4-1) opened the weekend against Hartford (2-2) Friday night. The Eagles defeated Hartford in three straight games: 31-29, 30-22, 30-17. Allison Shepp and Dorota Niemczewska combined for 19 of the 37 kills. The Eagles were able to block 9 shots against them in the match that lasted just an hour and 20 minutes. Verena Rost came out strong with all 28 assists and three serve aces in the three games.
The Eagles continued to soar Saturday in the afternoon matches against Iona and Holy Cross. BC defeated both teams with quick fashion, 3-0 and 3-0. Please check back for updated box scores.
BC volleyball will travel to New Hampshire on Tuesday and face head coach Andrea Leonard's former squad. The Eagles will then host Furman, Colgate and Towson in the New England Classic next weekend.
