York and Hill Capture Weekly BIG EAST Honors

Providence, R.I. - Boston College sophomore forward Sara York (Watertown, Mass.) and senior goalkeeper Lauren Hill (Bethesda, Md.) took home weekly honors from the BIG EAST office. York was the conference's Offensive Player of the Week while Hill was the conference's Defensive Player of the Week. The duo helped the 18th-ranked Eagles on both sides of the ball, catapulting the team to a 2-0 week. They are the third and fourth Eagles to be honored by the conference office.
York, the team's leading scorer with nine goals, netted three scores on the week. She registered the game winning goal in a 2-0 win over Providence. She added two more in a 3-1 win over Syracuse, scoring the game's first and final goal.
Hill started both games and collected her fourth shutout of the season. Over the two games, she collected 12 saves and improved her record to 4-2 on the season. With their two wins this week, the Eagles are 6-3 overall and 2-0 in the BIG EAST, giving them first place.
In the latest STX/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, Boston College was ranked 18th. In the latest NCAA statistics, the Eagles are ranked 15th in scoring defense (1.48 goals allowed per game) and 20th in margin of victory (+1.34).
This week, the Eagles will play two non-conference games. They will host Rhode Island Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. and then travel to Brown Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
