The Boston College women's soccer team continues to move up in the national rankings as they moved up to #19 in this week's NSCAA/adidas poll. The Eagles went 2-0 this week, defeating Holy Cross by a 10-1 score and then shutting out Villanova, 1-0. Sophomore Katie McGregor, who scored a goal in each game, was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week.
Boston College is again joined in the Top 25 by three other BIG EAST teams: Notre Dame (2), West Virginia (9) and Connecticut (10). Despite Connecticut's loss to West Virginia, the Eagles are still behind the Huskies as the second-ranked team in the Northeast Region. The Huskies will visit Boston College on Friday, October 3. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will mark the debut of night soccer on Newton Campus Field. The Eagles will first face two road tests as they play at Providence this Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. and then travel to Rutgers to take on the Scarlet Knights on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
