Cal Bouchard To Play For Olympic Berth

Toronto, Ontario - Former Eagle women's basketball standout Cal Bouchard (Aurora, Ontario) was chosen as one of 12 members of the final roster for the Senior Women's National Team which will represent Canada at the FIBA Americas Olympic Qualification Tournament in Culiacan, Mexico.
The Canadian team will head to Culiacan with the goal of securing a berth in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. The Olympic Qualification Tournament is set to run September 17-21 and will yield just one single berth to the 2004 Summer Games.
The Canadian Senior Women's National Team will depart for Culiacan September 14 and will begin play in Group B alongside Argentina, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. Group A consists of Brazil, Chile and Mexico.
Team Canada's preliminary FIBA Americas Olympic Qualification Tournament schedule is as follows:
Wed., Sept. 17 vs. Argentina 8:00 p.m. (EST) Thur., Sept. 18 vs. Cuba 7:00 p.m. (EST) Fri., Sept. 19 vs. Dominican Republic 7:00 p.m. (EST)
At the end of the preliminary round, the top two teams in each pool qualify for the semifinals. The semifinal round will feature a crossover format, where the Pool A and B winners will play the second place countries in the opposite pool. The semifinals are scheduled to take place September 20 at 9:00 p.m. (EST) and 11:00 p.m. (EST) respectively. The gold medal game is set for September 21 at 11:00 p.m. (EST).
