
Women's Tennis Players Earn ITA Academic Recognition

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior Emily Hellberg (Spring Lake, Mich.) and junior Amy Molden (El Cajon, CA) have recently earned 2003 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) scholar-athlete recognition. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year (including fall 2002 and spring 2003).
Hellberg finished the 2002-03 campaign at 20-6 overall while Molden closed out the season at 20-12. The two were tied for the team lead in wins. Hellberg posted a 15-3 mark in dual matches and was 5-2 in BIG EAST competition. Molden shone at the No. 5 singles spot, where she went 9-4.
The Eagles fall season kicks off at the William & Mary Invitation in Williamsburg, Va., September 19-20.
