Toronto, Ontario - Former Eagle women's basketball standout Cal Bouchard (Aurora, Ontario) is one of 12 members to represent Canada on the Senior Women's National Team that will compete in this year's Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, August 1-9, 2003.
Upon completion of the first training session June 7-9 at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, senior women's head coach Allison McNeill announced the 12-member squad that will represent Canada in Pan Am Games competition.
"I am very pleased and excited about the intensity and quality of play I saw this week at our first training camp. The Pan Am Games will be a great test for us," says McNeill. "We will play some tough competition which will give us a good indication of where the team is at and what we will need to improve on before heading to Mexico for the FIBA Americas and Pre-Olympic Qualification Tournament."
The Senior Women's National Team will meet again July 20-26 at Humber College in Toronto for the first part of its Phase II training session before departing for pre-competition training and exhibition games in Santo Domingo on July 27.
