Yovankin Earns BIG EAST Weekly and Season Honors

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - For the second consecutive year, women's lacrosse sophomore Jacklyn Yovankin was named to the all-BIG EAST Second Team. Yovankin was the only Eagle honored in a season in which BC posted a 9-6 overall record and finished fifth in the conference.
The midfielder led the Eagles and was among NCAA and conference leaders in three statistical categories this year. She gathered 89 groundballs, won 34 draw controls, and caused 33 turnovers. She also contributed 13 goals and assisted on 7 others for 20 points on the season.
Yovankin also earned the title of Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in the final week of the season. In two games, she corralled 25 groundballs, won six draw controls and assisted on two goals. Against the University of Connecticut, she collected 16 groundballs and led her team to a 6-5 double overtime victory. The Medford Lakes, N.J. native has received the award twice this season.
