Basketball Times Names All-America Teams

ATLANTA, Ga. - Boston College post player Becky Gottstein (Albany, N.Y.) and guards Jessalyn Deveny (Westford, Mass.) and Amber Jacobs (Clarks Summit, Pa.) were named Basketball Times Honorable Mention All-Americans.
Gottstein finished the season as BC's second-leading scorer with 15.3 points per game and the team's leading rebounder with 8.2 per game. In conference play, she averaged 16.8 ppg and 9.0 rpg. She has led her team to a 22-9 overall record and a No. 25 national ranking. This year's team advanced to the program's first-ever Sweet Sixteen. For her efforts, she was named to the All-BIG EAST first team. Gottstein finished her career as the school's second-leading rebounder (884) and fifth-leading scorer (1490).
Deveny was the BIG EAST's Most Improved Player this season, leading the team in scoring with 16.9 points per game. She was the team's second-leading rebounder with 5.9 boards per contest. In addition to being named the conference's Most Improved Player, she was an All-BIG EAST second team member.
Jacobs averaged 12.1 points and 2.3 rebounds per game this season, winning the hearts of women's basketball fans across the country with her last-second heroics in back-to-back NCAA tournament games. Hitting buzzer-beaters against Old Dominion and Vanderbilt, Jacobs pushed the Eagles into their first-ever Sweet Sixteen. She was an All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention.
