NORTHSTAR, Calif. - Boston College men's and women's ski teams closed out their season capturing a second-place finish for each team at the USCSA Nationals at Northstar ski resort held from March 4-8 in California.
Team results were calculated by adding the combined time (two runs per race) of each school's top three finishers to form a team time.
The women grabbed a second place team finish in the slalom and the giant slalom while the men wound up in second overall by finishing third in both the slalom and the giant slalom but only letting SNC beat them in both races.
Barry Connolly (Milton, Mass.) wrapped up his final ski season with two team-high finishes in slalom and giant slalom competition. Also competing in their final competition for the Eagles were seniors Michael Duran (North Fayston, Vt.) and Adam Wexler (Minnetonka, Minn.), who finished 12th and 28th in slalom racing, respectively. Junior David Guilietti (Farmington, Conn.) contributed to slalom and giant slalom overall team time by turning in 20th and 14th place performances. Junior Seth Therrien (Yakima, Wash.) placed 15th overall in the giant slalom.
For the women, once again it was senior Lori Williams (North Andover, Mass.) who finished top among Eagle racers. She helped solidify the second-place team finish by taking home fourth place in the slalom and sixth place in the giant slalom. Also contributing into team time in both races was junior Jennifer Runco (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.), who placed sixth in slalom competition and 15th in giant slalom. Junior Erica Pylman (Old Forge City, N.Y.) grabbed a top ten finish, placing ninth in the slalom.
