Men Finish Third in Slalom and Giant Slalom

LINCOLN, N.H.- The Boston College Skiing Teams competed in their third Carnival of the season at Loon Mountain, N.H., co-hosted by Brown University and the University of Connecticut. The women's ski team finished first in the slalom and second in the giant slalom while the men placed third in both events.
The women topped all 11 teams competing in the giant slalom and were edged in the slalom collecting 246.95 total points just behind race-winner, UMass who finished with 246.76. It was senior Lori Williams (North Andover, Mass.) who led the way for the Eagles taking home two first place finishes. Erica Pylman (Old Forge City, N.Y.) and Jennifer Runco (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) turned in top 10 finishes in both races while Lindsay Murray (Chelmsford, Mass.) crossed the line within the top 20. Rounding out the finishers for the women was Freshmen Andrea Grimley (Underhill, Vt.).
The men took home two third place performances behind a solid team effort. In the slalom, junior Seth Therrien (Yakima, Wash.) finished fourth followed by top 15 finishes by seniors Michael Duran (North Fayston, Vt.), Barry Connolly (Milton, Mass.) and Adam Wexler (Minnetonka, Minn.). The giant slalom saw junior David Guilietti (Farmington, Conn.) capture fifth place with Duran and Connoly grabbing ninth and 13th, respectively. Freshmen Andrew Wallman took home16th.
The Boston College Ski Teams will host the Boston College Carnival at Mt. Ascutney this weekend, Saturday February 8th and Sunday the 9th both days starting at 9:30 a.m.
