Ski Teams Qualify for Regional Championships

HENNIKER, N.H. - The Boston College men's and women's skiing teams qualified for the ECSC Regionals after finishing first and fourth the slalom competition at Pat's Peak hosted by St. Anselm's. In overall league standings, the Eagles finished second and fourth in the MacConnell Division of the Eastern Collegiate Ski Conference qualifying for the regional championships held Sunday February 24th and Monday, the 25th at Waterville Valley, N.H.
In the league standings, the men's team recorded six members finishing within the top twenty in the MacConnell Division. The men were propelled by top ten individual performances by juniors Michael Duran (North Fayston, Vt.), Seth Therrien (Yakima, Wash.) and David Guilietti (Farmington, Conn.). Barry Connolly (Milton, Mass.) finished 13th overall, while Andrew Wallman (Park City, Utah) and Adam Wexler (Minnetonka, Minn.), finished 16th and 18th, respectively.
For the women, senior Lori Williams (North Andover, Mass.) took home a first place finish overall, accumulating 191 total points in individual league standings. Following not far behind were juniors Erica Pylman (Old Forge City, N.Y.) who finished fifth overall, and Jennifer Runco (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) who grabbed ninth.
The men's team regular season was completed after a second first place finish in as many days driven by six racers finishing in the top 15 of the slalom event at Pat's Peak on Saturday. They were led by Therrien who finished fifth. He was followed by Duran and Connoly grabbing seventh and ninth, Wallman taking home 10th, Guilietti 14th and Wexler, 15th.
The women wrapped up their regular season with second and third place finishes by Runco and Williams. Rounding out the racers were Pylman notching 19th, junior Lindsay Murray (Chelmsford, Mass.) taking 21st, and freshmen Alexandra Grimley (Underhill, Vt.) finishing 32nd.
With a top four finish the Eagles will earn a trip to the National Championships in Lake Tahoe beginning on Wednesday March 5th.
