
Men's Tennis Edged By Colgate, 4-3

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The men's tennis team fought hard but in the end it dropped its third straight match, losing to Colgate, 4-3, Saturday afternoon at Syracuse's Drumlins Tennis Courts.
The Eagles (2-6) swept all three doubles matches, but won just two of the six singles matches. Junior Brad Anderson (Edina, Minn.) beat Eric Saccullo at No. 2, 6-2, 6-2, while sophomore Chris McCoy (Pittsburgh, Pa.) eased past Evan Ambrose at No. 4, 6-3, 6-2.
Anderson teamed with junior Justin Slattery (Andover, Mass.) to defeat Saccullo and Reed Hagmann at No. 1 doubles, 8-5. McCoy also won in doubles action; he and sophomore Bob Murray (Kenner, La.) defeated Blake Willmarth and Jon Bedard, 8-3, at No. 3. The other triumphant Eagle combo was junior Paul Colahan (Beverly, Mass.) and senior Damon Vartabedian (Franklin Lakes, N.J), who took care of Evan Ambrose and Jake Heims at No. 2, 8-4.
Boston College next faces Stetson on Monday, Match 3 at 11 a.m. in its first in a series of four matches while on Spring Break in Florida.
