BOSTON (AP) - Jessalyn Deveny scored a season-high 26 points, and 22nd-ranked Boston College continued its strong start with a 76-60 win over Wisconsin on Tuesday night.
Amber Jacobs added 21 points for Boston College (10-1).
The Eagles took charge when they increased the tempo during a 16-4 run over a 4:19 stretch that pushed their lead to double digits late in first half.
Stephanie Rich led the Badgers (5-4) with 13 points. The loss snapped Wisconsin's three-game winning streak, its best in three years.
With BC holding a 22-20 lead, Deveny's driving basket started the run. During the surge, BC hit eight of 10 free throws and capitalized on a number of Wisconsin turnovers. The Badgers commited 23 turnovers in the game.
The Eagles, who improved to 5-13 against Big Ten teams, led 44-30 at halftime.
BC put the game away in the opening six minutes of the second half by outscoring the Badgers 11-2. Deveny scored the Eagles' first three baskets before Jacobs, who limped off with a sprained ankle late in the first half, capped the run with a short jumper and a 3-pointer.
The Eagles will host Villanova Friday night in the first BIG EAST contest of the season. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast via tape delay on CN8.
