CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - In its final tune-up before regular season play begins, the Boston College women's basketball team handed the visiting Premier Players an 87-66 loss at Conte Forum on Thursday night. Sophomore center Lisa Macchia (Levittown, N.Y.) registered a double-double leading the Eagles in scoring (16) and rebounds (11).
Six Eagles scored in double-digits and 10 players tallied at least two points in the winning effort.
Senior Amber Jacobs (Clarks Summit, Pa.) dished-out seven assists and added seven points while Jessalyn Deveny (Westford, Mass.) scored 13. Maureen Leahy (Wilbraham, Mass.) and freshman Kathrin Ress (Salorno, Italy) scored 10 points apiece.
Boston College never trailed in the game and built a 28-point lead going into halftime behind a 60.6 shooting percentage from the field in the first half of play.
The Eagles' lead would increase to 34 on a Brooke Queenan's (West Chester, Pa.) three-point play at 13:26 of the second half.
Premier went on a 23-10 run to close the game.
The Eagles begin regular-season play Saturday, November 22 at 2 p.m. when they host Oakland at Silvio O. Conte Forum.
