Eagles Grab First and Fourth in Plymouth State Carnival

WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H.- The Boston College Skiing Teams competed in the Plymouth State Carnival at Waterville Valley, N.H. over the weekend. The men's team captured first place in the slalom and fourth place in the giant slalom while the women finished fourth in the giant slalom and sixth in the slalom.
On the women's side, senior Lori Williams (North Andover, Mass.) and junior Erica Pylman turned in impressive first and second place finishes in the slalom event helping the Eagles grab fourth place. Pylman led the way for the Eagles coming in fourth place the following day competing in the giant slalom. Also turning in top 25 performances were juniors Jennifer Runco (Bloomfield Hills, Minn.), placing 14th, and Lindsay Murray (Chelmsford, Mass.), placing 23rd.
For the men, it was senior Michael Duran (North Fayston, Vt.) who led the Eagles in the slalom grabbing eighth place recording a time of 1:32.91. Finishing not far behind were seniors Adam Wexler (Minnetonka, Minn.) and Barry Connolly (Milton, Mass.), freshman Andrew Wallman (Park City, Ut.) and junior David Giuletti (Farmington, Conn.), grabbing places 10 through 13, respectively. Less than one second separated the top four BC racers.
In the men's giant slalom, it was junior Seth Terrien (Yakima, Wash.) capturing third place recording a total time of 2:06.78. Also finishing in the top 20 were David Guilietti and Barry Connolly. Rounding out the BC skiers were Freshmen Peter Bing (Gallatin Gateway, Mont.) and sophomore Eric Newman (Saranac Lake, N.Y.).
Both Boston College Ski Teams will participate in the Brown University Carnival this weekend in Loon, N.H. on Saturday February 1st and Sunday the 2nd both days starting at 9:30 a.m.
