Men's Cross Country Takes First Place at Central Connecticut

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - The Boston College men's cross country squad took first place at today's Central Connecticut State University Invitational, winning handily with 30 overall points. Senior captain Shawn Wallace was the first finisher in the race, crossing the line with a time of 25:57.2.
The Eagles had a strong showing at this afternoon's event, placing four runners in the top 10. Junior Byron Gartrell (26:31), senior Matthew Kootman (27:04) and sophomore Drew Bouchard (27:05) finished fifth, sixth and seventh, respcetively. Sophomore Trevor Rozier-Byrd finished fifth for the Eagles - 11th overall - with a time of 27:34.
Boston College finished 40 points ahead of runner-up Holy Cross.
The Eagles return to action Fri., Sept. 13, when they travel to Durham, N.H. to take on New Hampshire and Connecticut.
