Women's Soccer Falls to West Virginia, 3-0

MORGANTOWN, W.V. - The Boston College women's soccer team suffered their first loss of the 2002 season tonight, falling to West Virginia, 3-0, in front of 410 spectators at the West Virginia Soccer Complex. The loss brings Boston College to a 2-1-0 (0-1-0 BIG EAST) record on the season, while West Virginia improves to 2-1-0 (1-0-0 BIG EAST).
Junior Lisa Stoia scored a goal and added an assist for the Mountaineers, while goaltender Melissa Haire earned her first shutout of the season, stopping three Boston College shots in the match.
Freshman Kate Taylor made eight saves in net for the Eagles.
Boston College was out-shot for the first time this season, 21-8.
The Eagles return to action Sun., Sept. 8, when they host Iowa at Newton Campus Field. Kick-off is slated for noon.
