Women's Soccer Drops 3-1 Decision at Miami

BC sophomore midfielder Laina Ceddia scored the match's first goal, but host Miami scored the game's last three goals to gain a 3-1 victory in a BIG EAST contest in Coral Gables, Fla.
The loss dropped 22nd-ranked Boston College's record to 4-2-1. Miami raised its record to 5-3-0.
Ceddia netted an unassisted goal at 13:42 to give the visiting Eagles the early advantage. Miami evened the score on Britney Butcher's goal at 20:58.
The score remained tied until early in the second half when the Hurricanes' Laura West scored at 52:59. UM's Gitana Gotay added an insurance tally at 76:10.
Boston College outshot Miami, 9-5, in the opening half, before the host Hurricanes gained a 7-2 shot margin in the final 45 minutes.
BC freshman Kate Taylor recorded two saves. Miami's Rachel Elsby made three stops.
Boston College returns to action on Sunday, September 22 at 13th-ranked Connecticut. Game time is 1 p.m.
