Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The 14th-ranked Boston College field hockey team collected its fourth win in as many tries with a 1-0 victory over cross-town rival Boston University Wednesday night in a non-conference match-up at Alumni Stadium on the campus of Boston College. With the win, Boston College improves to a perfect 4-0 overall and earned its third shutout of the season. The Terriers fell to 2-2.
Freshman Meg Palisoul (Bethesda, Md.) scored the game's lone goal just over eight minutes into the game. Palisoul connected on a putback of an initial Kim French (Shrewsbury, Mass.) shot. The first goal of Palisoul's career, it would stand for the win.
Boston College outshot Boston University, 10-0. Eagle goalkeeper Lauren Hill (Bethesda, Md.) collected her third shutout win.
The Eagles will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. for the BIG EAST/Big Ten Challenge. During the weekend, they will face #3 Michigan (Saturday) and Northwestern (Sunday). BC will return to Alumni Stadium on September 21 when it hosts Vermont.
