Men's Relays Have Strong Showings At Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA - The Boston College men's 4x800-meter and distance medley relay teams put together solid performances at the 108th-annual Penn Relays at Franklin Field. The 4x800-meter relay team placed first out of 15 teams in section two, and the distance medley relay team placed third out of 14 teams in section two. Both events had two sections, which were based on season-best times.
In the 4x800-meter relay, Boston College's team of senior Mike McKenzie (Natick, Mass.), juniors Vernon Mickle (Bay Shore, N.Y.), Shawn Wallace (Wakefield, Mass.) and freshman Dan McIsaac (Natick, Mass.) turned in a time of 7:40.24. The Eagles' distance medley relay team of McKenzie, Mickle, Wallace and freshman Geoff Atkins (Avon, Conn.) turned in a time of 10:02.47.
