White Competes In National Fencing Championships

MADISON, N.J. - From March 21st through March 24th, 144 fencers from 27 Division I, II and III schools competed in the NCAA 2002 Men's and Women's Fencing Championships. The event was held in the William E. and Carol G. Simon Forum of Drew University in Madison, N.J. When all was said and done, the Penn State Nittany Lions topped St. John's University to regain the championship title.
For Boston College, freshman epeeist Tiffany White (Irvington, NJ) earned the honor to travel back to her home state and represent the Eagles at this prestigious event. Competing in a field of 24 epeeists, White placed 18th with seven victories and a .304 winning percentage. Overall, White scored 73 touches and received 100. White's efforts at the Championships earned Boston College a 26th place finish, tying with UNC-Chapel Hill.
