Wrestling Hosts Harvard And Princeton Universities

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Eagles of Boston College hosted wrestling squads from Harvard and Princeton Universities on Saturday, February 9th. The series of dual matches were held in the Power Gym of Conte Forum on the Boston College campus. Despite their efforts, the Eagles fell to Harvard 31-0 and to the Tigers of Princeton University 43-12. Following the day's matches, the Eagles' record fell to 1-15 overall and 0-5 in the CAA Conference.
Boston College senior Ben Slaughter nearly beat out J.P. Jacquet before falling 6-4 in the second round of their match, highlighting the Eagles' match against Harvard. Against Princeton, freshman Nate Poole pinned Mark Lobo at 3:19, earning six points for the Eagles while Evan Williams pinned Charlie Wiggins at 1:23, boosting the Eagles' total to 12 points against the Tigers.
The Eagles will host two more matches in the Power Gym before the close of the team's last season. Teams from East Stroudsburg University and Sacred Heart University, both CAA Conference members, will take on the Eagles on the Boston College campus on Friday, February 15th and Saturday, February 16th.
