Fencing Tunes Up at New England Fall Invitational's

Northampton, Mass. - Boston College Fencing started the 2002-2003 season at the New England Fall Invitational hosted by Smith College. The Eagles were led by senior Dave Moyston who won the men's epee division and freshman Brian Sohn who captured the men's foil title. On the women's side senior Elizabeth Lennox finished third in the foil discipline and senior co-captain Kate Boyle earned a sixth place finish in epee.
Other notable finishers for the Eagles are as follows: sophomore Jonathon Tong and freshman Steven Moore finished tenth and twelfth, respectively, in epee, sophomore Will Lawrie finished fourth in foil, for the women senior Gena Koufos placed eleventh in epee, senior Sue Boyle placed tenth in foil, and freshman Alison DiQuollo earned eleventh in sabre.
The Eagles have start their campaign under head coach Syd Fadner and with new captains for the season. Senior Chris Bodnar and junior Paul Taylor will lead the men's squad and senior twin sisters Kate and Sue Boyle take the reigns for the women. The Eagles will next be in action Sunday, Nov. 17, at Tufts when they will compete against Tufts, Johns Hopkins and Army.
