WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Sophomore forward Lindsey Bazzone was named TPS Louisville Co-Player of the Week by the Women's Hockey East Association as announced Monday afternoon. Freshman goaltender Alison Quandt was also honored by the conference.
Bazzone had a productive week, scoring two goals in each of the Eagles' lopsided victories. She scored the first and last of five Boston College goals in its 5-1 defeat of Quinnipiac University on Tuesday. Her first goal came on a power play to tie the game in the first period and her second at the end of the third period to cap the scoring for the Eagles. Bazzone continued her scoring streak on Sunday afternoon, scoring two power-play goals in the midst of the 6-0 rout over Rensselaer.
The forward is having a sensational start to her sophomore campaign. Her five goals for five total points this season show a dramatic increase in production over her freshman season (one goal and three assists in exhibition play). She shares this week's award with Carolyn Gordon from the University of New Hampshire. Gordon earned the honor by tallying three goals against Princeton, including both in the Wildcats' 2-1 OT win.
Quandt was named to the Hockey East honor roll after shutting out the Engineers on Sunday. Quandt made eight saves in her first collegiate start as the Eagles dominated RPI.
