Skiing Grabs First And Fourth At Plymouth State Carnival

Waterville Valley, N.H. -- The Boston College Skiing team captures first and fourth at the Plymouth State College Carnival. The women take home first place finishes in both the Slalom and Giant Slalom events while the men garnered third and fourth place finishes, respectively. The women have won all four races they have entered.
Senior Christina Gush led the Eagles out of the gate with a first place finish in the Slalom and sixth in the Giant Slalom. Not far behind, junior Lori Williams logged a fourth place mark in the Slalom and a second in the Giant Slalom. Sophomore Erica Pylman rounded out the top three for the Eagles with twelfth and ninth places in the Slalom and Giant Slalom, respectively.
The men's squad had a strong showing and earned a podium spot in the Slalom. Sophomore Seth Therrien grabbed a fourth place finish for the Eagles in the Slalom, and he was followed by senior teammates Michael Duran, eighth, and Hans Gustafson, twelfth. Junior Adam Wexler and sophomore Joe Lopez rounded out the top five finshers in the Slalom. In the Giant Slalom, Duran set the mark, for the Eagles, with a seventeenth place finish. Junior Barry Connolly and sophomore David Giulietti followed with eighteenth and twenty-fifth place finishes, respectively.
The women stand in first place in the Eastern Collegiate Ski Conference and the men reside in fourth. The Eagles will next see action at the Brown University Carnival on Saturday, February 2, at Loon Mountain.
