Danaher, Meredith Named Verizon Academic All-District

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's soccer players Colleen Danaher and Elyse Meredith were named to the first and second team Verizon Academic All-District for District I, respectively, on Thursday.
Danaher, a junior from Rockford, Ill., earned first-team honors. An English and psychology major, Danaher has a 3.78 GPA at the Heights. She started and played in 21 games this season for the Eagles, finishing with one goal and one assist while being one of the team's top defensive midfielders.
Meredith, a two-sport athlete at Boston College, was named to the second team following a strong season for Boston College. A native of Basking Ridge, N.J., she has 3.46 GPA as a Pre-Med major. Meredith, who also plays on the Boston College softball team, joined the soccer team five games into the season and took over the goalkeeper duties. She went on to win 10 games this season, including a 2-0 victory over then No. 9-ranked Connecticut, a game in which she recorded 10 saves for the Eagles.
