CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's head soccer coach Alison Foley will try to get her team back on track this weekend when it hits the road for a pair of BIG EAST Conference games. The action begins at 7 p.m. tonight when the Eagles take on St. John's in Jamaica, N.Y. The weekend comes to an end at 1 p.m. Sunday when Boston College takes on No. 23 Syracuse in Syracuse, N.Y.
This will be the first game for Foley's squad since kicking off the 2001 BIG EAST portion of its schedule last Friday against Providence, where the Eagles and Friars battled to a 2-2 tie. Boston College (1-3-1 overall, 0-0-1 BIG EAST) was scheduled to play Rhode Island on Tuesday, but because of poor weather in Boston the game postponed.
In 2000, the Eagles defeated both of this weekend's opponents without surrendering one goal. Boston College defeated Syracuse 2-0 back on September 22 at Newton Campus Soccer Field, and followed that up with a convincing 4-0 win over St. John's on September 24.
The will be the final roadtrip for Boston College before it plays its next six games at home.
Senior Meghan Moore and sophomore Sarah Rahko enter this weekend as the leading scorers on the team. Both have tallied three goals and each have dished out one assist for a combined point total of 14.
