Field Hockey Drops Opener to Ohio, 1-0

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - The Boston College field hockey team dropped its season opener to Ohio University, 1-0, Friday evening at Alumni Stadium on the campus of Boston College. The Eagles fall to 0-1 while the Bobcats improve to 1-0. Both teams will play in the second round of the Boston College Field Hockey Tournament at Alumni Stadium Sunday afternoon.
Both teams played to a scoreless tie after the first half of action. Ohio broke into the scoring column at the 20:44 mark on a penalty corner. The Eagles were outshot 10-4 but had their chances late in the game. Sophomore goaltender Lauren Hill (Bethesda, MD) collected eight saves in her first collegiate contest.
The Eagles will next be in action Sunday afternoon when they take on Vermont at 1:30 p.m. Prior to that game, Sacred Heart and Ohio will face-off at 11 a.m.
