CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Two members of the Boston College women's lacrosse team, junior midfielder Chrissie DeMichele and junior attack Lauren Miller, were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Squad. To be considered, student-athletes must have a 3.2 grade point average, be a starter or an important serve on her collegiate team and hold junior or senior class standing.
Last season, Miller was the first BC player to earn All-BIG EAST first team accolades as she led the Eagles in scoring with 78 points - 49 goals and 30 assists - while starting all 15 games. She was fourth in the nation in points per game, averaging 5.27 per contest. She was tied for fifth in assists per game (2.00) and was seventh in goals per game (3.27). Her 11 points against Stanford in the Eagles' 19-4 upset victory over the Cardinal was the second-highest single point total this season in the country. At season's end, she was a first team regional All-America selection.
DeMichele was third on the team with 25 point on 21 goals and four assists. She started all 15 of the Eagles' games in the midfield. DeMichele was also second on the team in draw controls.
BC finished the season with a 6-9 record overall and a 1-5 mark in the BIG EAST.
