Wrestling Team Finishes Third In National Academic Standings

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College Wrestling Team finished third in the 2001 National Wrestling Coaches Association All-Academic team, according to an announcement from the NWCA and BC head coach Rod Buttry. The team's cumulative GPA of 3.226 was an increase from its previous year's 3.1407. The team finished fourth in 2000 and second in 1999.
Senior Steve Pregiato (Suffern, N.Y.) received honorable mention honors by earning a 3.28 GPA. The accounting major also earned the same honors in the 2000 season.
Pregiato finished third at the East Coast Wrestling Association Championship's 141-weight class. The championship was held at Binghamton University from March 3-4, 2001.
