Track Competes at ICAAAA

BOSTON - The Boston College women's track and field team competed at the ECAC Championship and the men's team competed at the ICAAAA Championship Saturday, March 3 and Sunday, 4 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. After the two day event, the women's team finished 12th out of 46 teams. The men finished tied for 36th out of 49 teams.
In the mile run, Laura Smith ran a 4:47.04 and took eighth place and Jen Donovan ran a 4:56.01 and finished 16th. Lauren Claudia, ran a 1:16.61 in the 500-meter. Taking 17th in the 5,000-meter run was Julie Spolidoro. In second in the 3,000-meter, Katie Ryan ran a 9:28.06.
In the women's distance relay event, Boston College won with a time of 11:17.42.
On the men's side, Jeff Normant finished ninth in the 500-meter in the preliminary round with at time of 1:04.08. In the finals, dropping a half a second, Normant finished fifth in the finals with 1:02.55.
In the men's 4x800 relay, the Eagles took sixth place out of 23 in the preliminary heat. In the finals, BC took eighth with a time of 7:37.33
The Boston College women's indoor track and field team will next compete at the NCAA Championships on March 9 and March 10. at the University of Arkansas.
