Women's Lacrosse Falls To Virginia Tech

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -The Boston College women's lacrosse team fell to Virginia Tech, 16-13, in a BIG EAST match-up, today, at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Leading the Eagles with four goals and three assists was junior Lauren Miller.
Opening the scoring Virginia Tech's Lisa Tsimbidis scored the first of her two goal at 26:59. The Eagles rallied back to score at 25:33 on an Meggie O'Neill goal. Assisting on the goal was Emily Ryan. At 19:15 the Hokies' Karen Diacont scored the first of her three goals. Tying the score again, O'Neill scored at 18:18 from Miller.
Jumping ahead again, Virginia Tech's Tsimbidis scored at 16:15. The Eagles fought back and O'Neill scored her third goal of the game at 14:39, unassisted. At 12:05 Boston College pulled ahead when Ryan scored from a Miller pass. Tying the score, the Hokies Kellyn Hentz scored the first of her six goals at 11:33. The Eagles would then go on a run four goal scoring run. The goals would come from, Chrisse DeMichele, Ryan and O'Neill, all unassisted and Ryan from Miller. Scoring one last goal of the half for the Hokies would be Hentz. At the half, Bosotn College led 8-5.
To strat the second half, Miller scored unassisted at 25:49. At 20:39, Kate Bjorke would score he lone goal of the game for Virginia Tech. O'Neill's fifth goal of the game - a career high - came at 20:50 for the Eagles. The Hokies would then go on a seven goal scoring streak, reclaiming the lead. The goals came from Kim Geis, Hentz, Hentz, Diacont, Samantha Sybert, Hentz and Tsimbidis.
The Eagles would score two more goals, coming with in one of the lead. Scoring for Boston College was Miller with both goals. But the Hokies went on to score two more insurance goals, one by Sybert and the other by Hentz.
In goal for Boston College, Rachel Zeller stopped ten. For the Hokies Stacey Rainbolt saved eight.
The Eagles will return to action when they travel to Piscataway, N.J. on Wed., Apr 4. The BIG EAST match-up will begin at 3:30 p.m.
