Women's Lacrosse Bows To Hofstra, 13-5

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The Boston College women's lacrosse team was defeated by Hofstra, 13-5, today at Hofstra Stadium in Hempstead, N.Y. Scoring multi-goals for the Eagles were Lauren Miller and Chrisse DeMichele.
The Eagles came out strong to take an early lead when Miller scored at 26:28 of the first half. Twenty seconds later the Eagles struck again when Emily Ryan scored at 26:08. Both goals were unassisted. To end the half the Pride went on a five goal scoring streak to take an 5-2 lead. Scoring for Hostra were five different players, Kathleen McPike, Kelly Dodson, Kathleen Mikowski, Megan Zimmer and Kristen Marshall.
Coming out from the intermission, Boston College registered the first goal of the second half, when Chrisse DeMichele scored the first of her two goals at 29:31. The Pride would again go on another scoring streak, scoring 7 goals in 7:37 from Marshall, McPike, Zimmer, Jessica Gaither, McPike, Dodson and Gaither. At 20:59 in the second, DeMichele score her second goal from Miller. Hostra would score their final goal of the game when Mikowski sent one past Eagle freshman goalie Rachel Zeller. With one minute remaining in the game, Miller score the last Eagle goal.
The Eagles will next play Villanova tomorrow, Sunday, March 25, 2001 at Alumni Stadium. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
