Katherine Muprhy Named BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior back Katherine Murphy was chosen as Boston College's winner of the BIG EAST/Aeropostale Female Scholar-Athlete Award. She will each receive $2,000 toward graduate studies.
Murphy, a moderate-special needs major in the Lynch School of Education, started all 21 games for the Eagles this season. She scored two goals from the backfield in 2000. On her career, she played in 79 games, scoring five goals and adding three assists for 13 points. She started 77 of her career matches.
The Eagles were 14-7 in 2000, advancing to the semifinals of the BIG EAST Tournament before falling to top-seeded Notre Dame.
