
Women's Ice Hockey Falls To Yale

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass-Yale used three unanswered goals in the third period to defeat Boston College 7-4, tonight, in an ECAC match-up at Kelley Rink, in Conte Forum, in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Leading the Bulldogs was Lisa Meyers with four goals and one assist.
Opening the scoring early, Melissa Tower scored Boston College's first goal at 5:40 of the first period. Assisting on the goal was Kaitlin McGrath. At the intermission, the Eagles out shot the Eli 13 to six.
Adding a second goal for the Eagles, Missy Barsz scored from an Alaina Clark pass at 13:16 of the second period. The Eli's responded scoring two goals of their own in the second period.
Opening the third period scoring, Yale scored at 2:48. Less than a minute later, Renee Taylor netted the Eagles third goal, tying the score. Assisting on the goal were Jen Buckely and Kelly McManus. Battling back and forth, Yale scored at 16:26 and Barsz responded with a goal of her own at 15:10. Assisting on the goal was Thia Connolly.
The Eli's would break out with three unanswered goals at 15:10, 15:52 and 17:14 to secure the 7-4 victory.
In goal for the Eagles, Amy Coletta stopped 20. For the Bulldogs, Nicolette Franck saved 22. Yale out shot Boston College 27-26.
Boston College will next play Harvard in an ECAC match-up in the first round of the women's Beanpot Tournament on Tues. Feb. 6, 2001 at 8:00 p.m. The tournament is to be held at Boston College's Kelley Rink in Conte Forum on the Chestnut Hill campus. In the first game of the Beanpot, Northeastern will play Boston University at 5:00 p.m. in Tuesday.
