Boston College Skiing Wraps Up Regular Season

Charlemont, MA - The Boston College ski team competed this weekend at the Smith College Winter Carnival, held at Berkshire East in Charlemont, MA. This was their last scheduled carnival of the regular season. The men's team placed second in the slalom on Saturday and fourth in Sunday's giant slalom while the women took first place honors in both the slalom and giant slalom events. After this weekend's events, Boston College's women's team is ranked in top place in the ECSC final standings with 18 total team points. The men's team, with 32 total team points, is ranked third.
Junior Christina Gush and sophomore Lori Williams led the way for the Eagles this weekend. Gush, for the fourth time this season, took silver medal honors in the slalom race. She also placed first in Sunday's giant slalom. Gush's performance has boosted her to third place in the ECSC individual standings. Lori Williams took third place honors in the slalom event on Saturday, earning her the top spot in the ECSC individual standings. Finally, freshman Jennifer Runco (Cranbrook Kingswood) placed sixth in Saturday's slalom and second in Sunday's giant slalom event to round off the Eagles' top performers. Runco stands at sixth place in the individual ECSC standings. On the men's side, the Eagles' top performer was freshman Seth Therrien, who placed sixth in the slalom. Therrien has secured a sixth place rank in the ECSC individual standings.
At the close of another regular season, Boston College looks forward to several post season events. The Eagles will send several team members to the NCAA Easterns in Middlebury, VT, on February 23rd and 24th and to the USCSA Eastern Regionals in Waterville Valley, NH, on February 25th and 26th.
