Wrestling Hosts Boston University and Wagner College

Chestnut Hill, MA - The Eagles hosted ECWA conference members Boston University and Wagner College at The Power Gym in Conte Forum on Friday, February 16 and Saturday, February 17. The Eagles fell to BU by a tally of 30-16 on Friday and picked up their first conference win against Wagner College on Saturday. The final score of the match was 48-3, in favor of the Eagles. In closing their regular season, Boston College's dual meet record stands at 3-12 with a 1-5 ECWA record.
Wrestling well for the Eagles was captain Steve Pregiato, who picked up 2 wins to improve his overall record to 16-15 (2-4 ECWA record). Pregiato defeated Boston University's Adam Miles 13-3 and pinned Wagner's Paul Zorsi at the 3:57 mark. Dave DeAngelo, wrestling in the 149 pound weight class, was pinned by BU's Malik Elliot at the 4:20 mark before pinning Wagner's Adam Jones at 4:18 on Saturday. DeAngelo's overall record stands at seven wins and ten losses. Dan Degan pinned BU's Jason Sigenon at the five minute mark and won by forfeit Saturday to improve his record to 24-11 (7-2 ECWA). Finally, heavyweight Antonio Garay continued his winning ways picking up two more wins this weekend. Garay won by forfeit against the Terriers before pinning Wagner College's Pivono Pinazzo at 3:37. Garay remains undefeated this year with a 5-0 overall record (3-0 ECWA).
Finding themselves at the end of another season, the Boston College wrestling team is looking forward to the ECWA Championships to be held on March 3, 2001. Any releases concerning Boston College at the Championships will be posted here following the event.
