
Women's Hockey Falls To Brown

Jumping on the board early, Brown's Melissa Rennison scored seven minutes into the opening period after Kelly Sheridan took a shot from a face-off. At 10:35, Meridith Ostrander took a pass from Courtney Johnson at the top of the crease, quickly pulled around Eagle goal keeper Sharon VanTuyl and sent the eventual game winner into the net.
Boston College's only goal of the game came five minutes into the second stanza. Just seconds into a power play, Jen Buckley found a hole in the defense and got the puck past Brown goal keeper Katie Germain. Assisting on the goal was Gen Richardson. Brown scored its only goal of the period, when Patty Long scored at 18:07.
Brown would go on to score two more goals in the third period. Courtney Johnson scored at 1:30 and Ostrander scored again on a power play at 16:25.
In goal for the Eagles, Van Tuyl stopped 45. For Brown, Katie German saved 11 in 40 minutes and Pam Dreyer stopped five in the final 20.
The next game for the Boston College women's ice hockey team will be on Tue., Feb., 20 against Bowdoin. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
