Track and Field Competes Against UNH, UVM and Maine

HANOVER, N.H. - The Boston College men and women's track and field teams compete against New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine in their annual meet on Sat., Feb. 10, in Hanover N.H. Both competing against four teams, the men's team finished second and the women's team took third.
Leading the men's team to their first victory, Jon Ordway won both the preliminary and finals of the 55-meter dash with the times of 6.59 and 6.53, respectively. In the finals of the 55-meter dash, Trevor White finished second, Jamal Burke, third and Ramon Johnson took fourth. Taking first in the 200-meter, Ordway ran a 22.84. Following in second, Burke finished with a time of 22.84.
In the 800-meter race, Mike McKenzie ran to a second place finish and Mike Karshes finished third. Winning the 1500-meter event, Shawn Wallace ran a 4:05.68. Less than two seconds later, Byron Gartrell took second with a time of 4:07.39. Jeff Normant took third place for Boston College in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 6.37.
Taking second in the high jump, Gabe Verdaguer jumped 1.80 meters. While Keith Normant jumped to a second place finish with a distance of 12.84 meters. In the shot put, Anthony Beirne took second place.
In the women's competition, Zoey O'Sullivan took second in both the 55-meter dash and the 200-meter dash with the times of 7:28 and 26.96, respectively. Taking second place in the 400-meter event, Erin Mahoney ran a 64.20.
In the 500-meter dash, Christina Regan finished in third place. Later in the meet, Ragan followed with a third place finish in the high jump. In the 55-meter hurdles, Kate Sullivan ran a 8.50 for second place. Christina Regan took second place in the long jump with a jump of 5.03 meters.
The Boston College men and women's track and field teams will next complete at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships on Feb 23 and Feb. 24 at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y.
