WOMEN'S TENNIS TAKES TWO OVER THE WEEKEND

Syracuse, N.Y.-- The Boston College women's tennis team won two matches over West Virginia and Syracuse this weekend on February, 10 and 11, respectively, both by a score of 5-2.
On Saturday, February 10, against West Virginia the Eagles rolled over the Lady Mountaineers winning four out of six in singles and all three doubles matches. Seniors Cynthia Tow and Kiren Fernando along with junior Ruta Veitas and freshman Allison Ashley all picked up victories in singles competition. Sophomore Jessica Engel and freshman Emily Hellberg were the other two Eagles competing.
On the doubles side the Eagles swept the Lady Mountaineers. Tow/K.Fernando, Ashley/Veitas and sophomore Anisha Fernando partnered with Hellberg to complete the victory.
Sunday the Eagles were able to continue their winning ways by dispatching Syracuse in similar fashion. The same four Eagles won their singles matches and managed to secure two out of the three doubles matches to ensure the second win in as many days.
Tow/K.Fernando and Hellberg/A.Fernando were victorious on Sunday as Ashley/Veitas fell in their match.
The women's tennis team will next see action on Thursday, February 15, at Miami at 11:00 a.m. The Women's Tennis team is now 2-0 in dual matches and in BIG EAST play.
