Rahko Named To Northeast Region First Team

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Sophomore midfielder Sarah Rahko (Londonderry, N.H.) continues to pile up the accolades from the 2001 season. For the second-consecutive season, she was named to the Northeast regional first team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Rahko was joined by University of Connecticut players Alexis Borisjuk and Casey Zimny as the only members of the BIG EAST Conference to make the first team.
Rahko helped lead the Eagles to a 11-10-1 record in 2001 and a berth to the NCAA tournament, where Boston College fell to the University of Nebraska. She finished the 2001 season with nine goals and eight assists for a total of 26 points. In just two seasons, she has tallied 17 goals and dished out 21 assists for a total of 55 points.
This season, she has been named the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year and a first-team all-BIG EAST and New England honoree.
