Wrestling Opens Season With Three Losses

New York, NY - Boston College Wrestling dropped to 0-3 in their first weekend of action. The Eagles were defeated by New York University 31-12, Centenary College 28-18, and Muhlenberg College 33-17.
Wrestling particularly well for the Eagles was senior Evan Williams and junior Brad Shemluck. Williams began the day by defeating NYU's Billy Piper 9-2. He proceeded to pin Centenary's Ponce at 2:50 and then to defeat Joe Salerno of Muhlenberg College by a tally of 9-1. Shemluck defeated NYU's John Rysiejko 3-2, then Centenary's Hay 11-6 and pinned Muhlenberg's Dave Jenning at 2:55.
The Eagles will participate next in the Binghamton Open on Saturday, November 10, 2001. The Open will be held in Binghamton, New York and will begin at 9:00 a.m.
