Women's Swimming Edged Out By Cal-San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - For the Boston College women's swimming and diving team, its three-meet winning streak came to an end against the University of California at San Diego on Friday night. In a competitive dual meet, the Eagles fell 160.5-139.5 but they had several strong individual performances.
Senior Lauren Schwartz led the Eagles with two individual victories. Her first win came in the 200-yard butterfly, which she turned in a time of 2:09.71. She came back six events later and took home top honors in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 59.35, just edging out teammate Lauren Keibler, who finished with a time of 1:00.00.
Other individual winners for the women's swimming and diving team were sophomore Caitlin Healey, who finished first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:46.34), junior Nina Suryoutomo, who won the 50-yard freestyle (24.97).
Sophomore diver Katelyn Cox had a strong showing on the one-meter competition, finishing with a score of 205.00. Junior Nicole Duffy joined Healey in sweeping the distance events as she took first place in the 500-yard freestyle, closing out the race with a time of 5:12.06. The final individual winner of the evening was freshman Kathleen McCann, who turned in a time of 2:09.92 on her way to a victory in the 200-yard individual medley.
